Every parent deserves to feel confident navigating their child’s education. PROUD Bridges Parent Academy equips immigrant parents and caregivers with practical knowledge, resources, and opportunities to become informed advocates and active partners in their children’s educational journey.
Through parent education, school engagement, resource navigation, and leadership development, we aim to strengthen the connection between families, schools, and the communities that support them.
This program focuses on:
School System Navigation: Helping parents better understand school expectations, educational pathways, and how to communicate with teachers and school leaders.
Family Advocacy & Voice: Building parents’ confidence to ask questions, raise concerns, participate in school meetings, and advocate for their children’s needs.
Resource Navigation: Connecting families with relevant educational and community resources.
Parent Leadership: Creating opportunities for parents to share their experiences, contribute to school-community conversations, and support other families.
Our intended impact
We aim to strengthen parents’ knowledge, confidence, school engagement, and ability to advocate for their children while building more trusting relationships between families and schools.

The Family Academy Program
The 4TY Family Academy Program empowers parents and families to become confident, informed partners in their children’s education.
- Strengthens Family Engagement: Builds strong connections between families, schools, and the community.
- Supports Immigrant & Newcomer Families: Provides a welcoming space to learn about and navigate the American education system.
- Creates a Safe Community: Brings families together to connect, share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another.
- Provides Guidance & Resources: Helps families understand school expectations, resources, opportunities, and their rights.
- Builds Parent Confidence: Equips parents with the knowledge and tools to advocate for their children’s academic success.
- Encourages Family Leadership: Empowers families to become active voices and confident partners in their children’s educational journey.
- Connects Families to Community: Creates opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and meaningful partnerships that help families thrive.
- Meets Three Times a Year: Family Academy sessions are held three times each year, providing ongoing opportunities for families to learn, connect, and stay engaged throughout the school year.
